Jay Z is still trying to dodge the potential PR nightmare that his most recent business venture – a collaboration with high-end fashion retailer Barneys - is threatening to turn into. Just days before the launch of the the Barneys New York Shawn Corey Carter collection, the rapper and business mogul has vowed to confront allegations of racial profiling head on.

Jay Z is moving ahead with the partnership, but he will keep the accusations in consideration.

Jay Z, real name Shawn Carter, has issued a second letter on the matter, explaining that not only will he take on a “leadership role and seat on a council specifically convened to deal with the issue of racial profiling,” but he will also ensure that 100% of the profits from the collaboration go to worthy causes via the Shawn Carter foundation.

The rapper has vowed to donate all profits from the partnership via his foundation.

"While I await the findings of the Attorney General’s Office, I have agreed to move forward with the launch of BNY SCC collection under the condition that I have a leadership role and seat on a council specifically convened to deal with the issue of racial profiling," Jay wrote on his official website. "I am in a unique position to use my voice to affect change to this disturbing issue. The easy position would have been to walk away and leave policy making to others hoping that someone addresses the problem.”

Jay Z had previously defended the partnership, after the company was accused of profiling two black patrons last month.

So far, Carter has successfully avoided a potential PR blunder.
