The 44 year-old announced that the Made In America Music Festival will be the first in the US "to run simultaneously on both coasts."
Jay Z is one of the music's most successful entrepreneurs and he is now making another big career move.
The Brooklyn- born rap star is becoming quite the business man as he now plans to hold a Budweiser Made in America Music Festival, which he co-founded, in Los Angeles, as well as in its traditional home of Philadelphia.
Jay and Los Angeles Major Eric Garcetti announced that the annual music festival will be coming to the west coast city over Labor Day weekend on Wednesday (April 16th).
The two-day event is slated to take place at Los Angeles' Grand Park on August 30th and 31st.
The music event, now in its third year, will be the first US festival "to run simultaneously on both coasts," according to a press release, via Rolling Stone.
Last year's Made In America event doubled in attendance from 40,000 to 80,000, which could be the reason for the expansion to the west coast. Jay's Roc Nation and Budweiser spent a large part of last month convincing LA's City Council to host the festival.
Joining Jay and Mr Garcetti at the announcement, which was held on Los Angeles' City Hall steps, was Budweiser vice president Brian Perkins, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson and President and CEO United Way of Greater Los Angeles Elise Buik.
"I want to thank Budweiser for putting together a show that's in the city, not some far-off place you can't get to," Jay Z said at the press conference. "No disrespect to any other festivals, no shots. Look how beautiful this park is, it's accessible to everyone, it's inclusion it's not exclusion. We started two years ago in Philadelphia and had huge success, and I'm sure we'll have even more success here in Los Angeles. We're very proud to be here in America."
There is no word on who will be headlining both of this year's Made In America festival's but they are expected to be announced in early May.
