U.S. talk show hosts Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel are struggling so much to find guests prepared to cross the Writer's Guild of America picket line - they've agreed to appear on each other's shows. On Thursday (10Jan08), Kimmel will cross the network divide and be a guest NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - and Leno will return the favour and appear on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! Explaining the move, Leno says, "There are only a few people in the world that know how tough this job is. Jimmy is one of them. It will be fun to discuss who's a good guest... and everything else that comes with sitting behind these desks." Kimmel adds, "If Jay and I can come together and guest on each other's shows, then surely there is hope for peace in the Middle East." Rival David Letterman is getting the pick of A-list guests because his production company secured a deal with striking writers, enabling them to return to work.
