Javier Bardem and wife Penelope Cruz headed to Paris to share a few days together, following the news that they're expecting their first child. The couple - who were married in an intimate ceremony earlier this summer - travelled to France so that Bardem could promote his movie 'Biutiful', reports OK Magazine. He is also due on a publicity junket for new film 'Eat, Pray, Love', with Julia Roberts.
'Bitiful' was the film that won the 41-year-old the 'Best Actor' award at this year's Cannes Film Festival, with the actor famously declaring his love for Cruz during his acceptance speech, saying, "my friend, my companion, my love: Penelope". The pair are staying in a hotel off the Champs Elysees, and that whilst lunching together in the hotel courtyard the Spaniard, 'couldn't stop smiling, seeing his wife in front of him'.
Cruz's agent confirmed yesterday (14th September 2010) that the Oscar winning actress is four-and-a-half months pregnant with her first child, however, she is still continuing to film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' in London, which is the fourth in the franchise and also stars Johnny Depp and Ian McShane. The movie is set for release on 20th May 2011.
