Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz will spend their last Christmas before becoming parents in Los Angeles because bad weather in Europe has dashed their hopes of returning to their native Spain.
The Vicky Cristina Barcelona actors split their time between Madrid and Los Angeles and have been in Hollywood in recent weeks as Bardem promotes his latest film, Biutiful.
And they are preparing to celebrate Christmas with their American pals instead of joining family and friends in Spain, as a result of the heavy snowfall which has shut down airports and caused havoc for travellers across northern Europe.
Speaking to late night U.S. TV presenter Jay Leno, Bardem says, "We're still working on that (plans for Christmas). (But) based on how the airports are in Europe, I think we're going to stay here!"
The couple, which wed in July (10), will welcome its first child together in March (11).
They're not the only movie stars stranded in Los Angeles - Kevin Spacey has had to scrap his plans to fly back to his adopted London for a white Christmas because he can't get a flight.
