Jason Momoa

With 'Justice League' now finally in movie theatres, it's fair to say that the latest DC Extended Universe release has done what most of those that came before it did with the critics and wider viewing public, splitting opinion right down the middle. Zack Snyder is officially the director of 'Justice League', but the filmmaker was forced to cede the movie to Joss Whedon following a family tragedy. This led to scenes being reshot, lines being re-written and some being cut from proceedings entirely, despite featuring in trailers that led up to the film's release.

Jason Momoa

When Jason Momoa was first revealed as the actor to be taking on the DC Extended Universe's version of Aquaman, many long-time fans of the superhero raised their brow. He didn't look the part of the regular Arthur Curry, but perhaps he was the gruff addition to the versions of the DC character that was needed for casual comic book movie fans to really take him seriously. Plus, he had already proven how great of an actor he was in such projects as 'Game of Thrones'.

Jason Momoa Reveals Aquaman Is Not Yet King In 'Justice League'

Jason Momoa

Aquaman is arguably one of the most interesting personalities we'll be seeing when 'Justice League' finally makes its way to the big screen. Though he has in the past been ridiculed for being a hero who 'just talks to fishes', long-time fans know that this isn't the case and recognise that his power actually far outweighs many of his DC superhero counterparts.

Former 'Game of Thrones' actor Jason Momoa is the man to bring Aquaman to the DC Extended Universe, with the big screen adaptation of the character being hugely different to much of what comic book readers have seen throughout the years. It looks like the change in his overall look won't be the only thing unique about this representation however, as Momoa has opened up more about his character's behaviour.

Jason Momoa Apologises For Rape Joke In Resurfaced Clip

Jason Momoa

Former ‘Game of Thrones’ star Jason Momoa has apologised for an old video that has resurfaced from six years ago in which he brags about fictional rape.

At a Comic-Con panel back in 2011, in which Momoa featured alongside his fellow ‘GoT’ stars Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey, the star was asked about why he enjoyed the fantasy genre and how far he was allowed to go in depicting brutality.

“As far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women,” the future Aquaman star replied.

Justice League Trailer

The planet is in turmoil. Superman is apparently dead and crime rates have surged around the world as a result. But there's more than just petty theft and random assaults out there; mankind are under threat from an alien general named Steppenwolf who, with his terrible army of Parademons, are causing devastation as they search far and wide for three mysterious Mother Boxes hidden on Earth. The people need help, and so Bruce Wayne brings back Gotham's hero - Batman - and enlists the assistance of Wonder Woman to form a new legion of heroes. They, along with Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash, must protect the world from total destruction at the hands of Steppenwolf and, ultimately, his boss Darkseid. They're all very different heroes, with very different ideas about fighting villains, but there's one thing they all have in common - a desire for justice.

Is Jason Momoa The Superhero We've Been Waiting For?

Jason Momoa

'Justice League' is finally hitting screens this Fall, following up events in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'. But there's only one thing on people's mind right now with regards to the film; Jason Momoa's Aquaman. Could his arrival be a hugely advantageous turning point for the DC franchise?

Arthur Curry aka Aquaman is probably the most heavily modified of all movie-adapted comic book superheroes. As DC fans will know, the character is hardly portrayed as one of the coolest members of 'Justice League'; in fact, he is just about the most scoffed at and underrated superhero in the whole DC Universe.

Ben Affleck Gal Gadot Jason Momoa Zack Snyder

The first major trailer for 'Justice League' has finally dropped and it tells us a lot about what to expect in the forthcoming DC movie. Following directly on from 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', we meet the majority of the team and the dangers they're set to face.

[L-R] The Flash, Superman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Batman and Aquaman make up the Justice League[L-R] The Flash, Superman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Batman and Aquaman make up the Justice League

We see Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) having taken a long journey somewhere, most likely to track down Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) in an isolated fishing village. Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) is the first to unite with Bruce as he gathers the Justice League, both spurred by the brave sacrifice of their friend Clark Kent (Henry Cavill). Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) is a little shocked to be recruited, especially while he's got his own problems to deal with such as his father Henry Allen (Billy Crudup) being in prison.
