Country singer Jason Aldean raised more than $500,000 (£312,500) for a cancer charity by staging a special show in Dallas, Texas on Saturday (27Oct12).

The My Kinda Party hitmaker finished his tour with a concert at the city's Gexa Energy Pavilion, and he pledged money from the gig to breast cancer organisation Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Aldean has now thanked fans for their support and revealed the show garnered $509,000 (£318,125) for the cause.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Thanx (sic) to everyone in Dallas last nite (sic) for a great show and helping us raise over $509k for Susan G. Komen. What a way to end the Mkp tour!"
