Singer Jason Aldean will make history when he becomes the first country artist to play a concert at Boston, Massachusetts' historic baseball field Fenway Park next year (13).

The My Kinda Party star will kick off his 2013 tour, in support of his new album Night Train, at the home of the Boston Red Sox on 13 July (13) and he announced the big news at the stadium itself on Thursday (18Oct12), alongside team president Larry Lucchino.

He said, "Being the first country music artist to ever come here and headline a show is amazing. It's going to be a fun night. Over the last several years, my career, especially the touring side of that, has been pretty amazing. It's been growing. So thank you guys for having us. I can't wait for July 13."

Aldean was also given a warm welcome to the sports venue by Red Sox teammates David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who recorded a short video for the singer.
