British rocker Jarvis Cocker is to put all his lyrics down in print in a new book.
The Pulp frontman will release Mother, Brother, Lover: Selected Lyrics in October (11) and the tome will feature song words from his long career in the music industry.
Cocker signed the book deal with publishing giant Faber & Faber, which has released numerous poetical works over the years, and Cocker hopes his book will help him follow in the footsteps of his poet heroes.
He tells Britain's The Guardian, "When (Pulp's lyrics) were reproduced on the record sleeves, it always used to say 'N.B. please do not read the words while listening to the recordings.' But I've accumulated a certain amount of work now and I think a lot of the appeal is that Faber have published a lot of poets I like. The idea that I could be allowed on the same shelf is very flattering. So I went back and looked at the words, and with that passage of time I realised some of them were alright."
