Singer Janet Jackson paid tribute to her fans at Saturday's (20MAR04) SOUL
TRAIN AWARDS as she picked up this year's QUINCY JONES Award for Career
Achievements in Los Angeles.
Jones himself paid tribute to the pop superstar via video message before
the sexy star took to the stage in a flattering and revealing white gown.
Jackson used her acceptance speech to thank those who had stood by her
following her breast-baring Super Bowl controversy last month (01FEB04), which
prompted massive controversy in her native America.
She said, "You've been there for me during the good times and the bad.
You've been a great source of comfort, especially in the last few weeks."
Jackson insisted her "heritage" had helped her cope with the criticism she
received after her accident at the Super Bowl, explaining, "Endurance is my
heritage, especially as a black woman... it's that strength that allows us to
get down, get
through and get over."
