It feels like we've been waiting forever but Janet Jackson has finally confirmed that she's on her way with a full North American tour in the Fall. 36 dates have so far been announced but, after what the singer suggested last month, we are expecting a lot more.

Janet JacksonJanet Jackson announces US tour dates

The multiple Grammy award winner has now posted tour dates for the first Canada and US leg of her upcoming run of dates, entitled Unbreakable World Tour. We don't know when the next lot of dates will be announced, but we'll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled. The tour marks her first tour in four years, and will run in support of her forthcoming studio album - details of which are yet to be announced.

The announcement of Jackson's return was made in May 2015, with the singer posting a video revealing: 'I promised you'd hear it from my lips and now you will. This year, new music, new world tour, a new movement. I've been listening. Let's keep the conversation going.' The only details we think we've been given so far is a hint of perhaps the first single, going by the mysterious hashtag that keeps cropping up on Twitter: 'Conversations in a Café'.

The new album will follow 2008's 'Discipline' - her first release on Island Records and one which topped US charts for the first time since 2001's multi-Platinum 'All for You'. Since 'Discipline', her only other release was the Greatest Hits compilation 'Icon: Number Ones' from 2010, which featured the single 'Nothing'. Following that, she embarked on her 'Number Ones, Up Close and Personal' world tour spanning all continents.

The American Express pre-sale for the tour beings on June 19th 2015.
