Actress Jane Seymour has broken her silence on her "devastating" split from husband JAMES KEACH, insisting she still loves and respects the actor/filmmaker, and they plan on remaining the best of friends for their kids.
The former Bond girl separated from Keach after 20 years of marriage several months ago, but the couple didn't go public with the news until last Friday (12Apr13).
The stars, who are parents to 17-year-old twins John and Kristopher, put on a brave face to co-host the Open Hearts Foundation Gala in California just one day later (13Apr13), but Seymour admits it hasn't been easy coming to terms with the end of their relationship as husband and wife.
During an appearance on U.S. chat show The View on Thursday (18Apr13), she said, "Obviously it's really devastating and it did happen a while ago, we sort of kept (it) quiet... (but) we open our hearts to one another, we respect one another, we've been together for 20 years and we will be together for the rest of our lives, raising our children and doing things like the Open Hearts Foundation.
"What can I say? It's life, it happens and we both have to adapt to the change and the challenge and hope that we can continue to be the best parents we possibly can be and good friends."
On the bright side, Seymour, who has a son and daughter with ex-husband David Flynn, was recently given a much-needed reason to smile - she welcomed her third grandchild, Willa, last month (Mar13). She jokes, "I thought there was going to be a time in my life where I wouldn't have children!"
