Jamie Lynn Spears set the celebrity gossip world alight in 2007 when, aged just 16 and starring in Nickelodeon's 'Zoey 101,' she announced that she was pregnant. Life's hard enough when you're the younger sister of the globally world famous multi-million album selling Britney Spears, when you suddenly find yourself pregnant and reveal something in public that not even your parents had known about for that long it can no doubt get very tough indeed.
In an interview with Glamour Magazine, the younger Spears reflected on that period of her life nearly five years ago, admitting she was "scared" at the time, but strongly defending her reasons for keeping the child - who has now blossomed into the beautiful three year-old Maddie. "I'd had one boyfriend, it doesn't make it perfect or all right. But I was judged for something that probably most everyone does," Spears insisted "I was young. I was in love. I was like every other teenager, except I had this last name. And I made a decision that is forever my decision."
Since then her child's been first priority, attempting to shield all the outside criticisms and opinions that have come with it. Now split up with CASEY ALDRIDGE, the father of Maddie, Spears stated that she's now looking forward to the future, feeling that the past four years have strengthened her as a woman and claiming "I'll admit, I'm kind of scared; it's a vulnerable place for me. But I think 21 will be the year for me."
