GORILLAZ star JAMIE HEWLETT has been shortlisted for the UK's Designer Of The Year award.
Hewlett, the animator behind the DAMON ALBARN-fronted virtual band, is one of four contenders up for the prestigious GBP25,000 ($45,000) prize.
An exhibition of the nominated artists' work goes on show at London's Design Museum on 4 March (06), before a panel of experts and a public vote decide the winner in May.
Prior to finding fame as part of Gorillaz, Hewlett created the cult comic book Tank Girl, which was turned into a big-budget movie in 1995.
The other contenders on the shortlist are furniture designer TOM DIXON, humanitarian designer CAMERON SINCLAIR, and the design team behind British newspaper The Guardian.
