The actor says he wouldn’t even be mates with his ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ character.
Jamie Dornan achieved worldwide fame playing Christian Grey in the steamy Fifty Shades of Grey, but the Irish actor is careful to separate himself from the character.

When Ana and Christian had their first fateful meeting, neither party knew much about the real person they were meeting. Christian didn't know just how naive Ana really was and Ana didn't quite understand just how dark Christian's thoughts ran. Though from completely different backgrounds and living entirely different lives, the pair were attracted to one another and they began a relationship - one mainly brought about after Christian seducing Ana, his latest younger woman. As dark secrets were uncovered, it became known to Ana that Christian was into BDSM. Still wishing to go ahead with the relationship, Ana finds out just how far Christian is willing to go to get his thrills but realises that she can't be with a man who inflicts that level of pain on someone they care about.
Time passes, Christian continues with his business lifestyle and Ana starts a new job at a publishing house and the former lovers reunite whilst at an exhibition of photography put on by one of Ana's friends. Christian begins to realise that his feelings for Ana run deeper than the usual dominant / submissive roles that usually define his relationships. With Ana now setting the rules, the pair begin a true relationship but as stories about Christian's past are revealed and Ana is introduced to some of the women that involve his past, neither party know exactly how they'll make their relationship work without sacrificing certain aspects.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprise their roles as Christian and Ana respectively. Kim Basinger is introduced to the plot as Elena Lincoln a lady Ana nicknames Mrs. Robinson after learning that she seduced Christian whilst still of a young age. Whilst Rookie Blue actor Eric Johnson is cast as Jack Hyde and Bella Heathcote as Leila Williams.

Since leaping into the A-list with Fifty Shades of Grey in 2015, Jamie Dornan has stayed busy, continuing his role in the acclaimed TV series The Fall and starring in three movies this year.
Still to come are the creepy mystery The 9th Life of Louis Drax and the 1960s mercenary action movie Jadotville. In the mean time, there's the World War II thriller Anthropoid, based on the true story of the Czech resistance fighters who plotted to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich, the Nazi's third in command after Hitler and Himmler.
"The first I learned of Operation Anthropoid was when I read the script," Dornan says. "I was blown away by it! I find it fascinating that a story of that magnitude can exist and you could not know about it. It's a very important story to be told and one I wanted to be involved in."

Dornan and the 'Fifty Shades Darker' cast and crew had to film in Nice the day after the recent terror attacks because of contractual obligations.
Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan has revealed that he and the rest of the movie’s cast were contractually obliged to continue filming in Nice last month, despite the city being on high alert after the Bastille Day terrorist attack.
Back on July 14th, an annual French national holiday, a truck ploughed into a crowd of people celebrating watching fireworks in Nice on the Promenade des Anglais, killing 85 and injuring more than 300 others.
However, due to financial considerations because of the massive budget attached to the sequel Fifty Shades Darker, the decision was forced upon them to continue filming despite the ongoing dangers.
Reinhard Heydrich was one of the fiercest anti-Semitic officers in the Nazi army. He authored the Final Solution plan which detailed the extermination of Jews throughout Europe and was the third most powerful member of The Nazi Party only surpassed by Hitler and Heinrich Himmler. Heydrich's reputation as one of the most dangerous and darkest officers in the regime was known throughout Europe.
Having been appointed as the head of the army in Czechoslovakia, Heydrich did his best to distance himself from any possible threat, the resistance army were few and far between and were barely operational and Heydrich's control of the region was continually strengthening.
Two Czech soldiers who were living in exile find themselves as the most important people in a mission to assassinate Heydrich. Their mission is called Anthropod and they have been trained by the British military to go into Prague and end Heydrich's reign, which was so brutal he was nicknamed The Butcher Of Prague.

'Fifty Shades of Grey' is here - but is it any good?
Ok, so after that bloke from Sons of Anarchy dropped out, and that bloke from The Fall jumped in, after the movie got a restricting rating and then a not-too-restriction rating and after somebody said it was really kinky but also not that kinky, Fifty Shades of Grey is finally here. The steamy tale of billionaire Christian Grey and his submissive mistress Anastasia Steele has finally made it to the screen - but, well, is it any good?

'Fifty Shades of Grey' is set to open next week - but its director Sam Taylor-Johnson says she regularly clashed with E L James over the film's portrayal of the book.
On the eve of its release, Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson has broken her silence on what it was like to work with the book’s author E L James. In an interview with Porter magazine, she admitted “it was difficult, I’m not going to lie.”
“We definitely fought, but they were creative fights and we would resolve them,” the 47 year old continued. “We would have proper on-set barneys, and I'm not confrontational, but it was about finding a way between the two of us, satisfying her vision of what she'd written as well as my need to visualize this person on screen, but, you know, we got there.”

Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey
Speaking to Britain’s Daily Express Dornan talked about his upcoming role as Christian Grey saying, “I am never going to please all the readers of the books.”
As not all fans of the erotic novel were happy with the Irish actor being cast as Christian Grey, he says his life may be in danger at the film's première in February.
Jamie Dornan's latest role sees him play kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E. L. James's bestselling erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' And as this is one of the most anticipated movies in recent memory, the Irish actor is very aware, even fearful, of the attention he may receive once it is released.
Jamie Dornan plays Christian Grey in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'
As the novel has a legion of fans around the globe, it isn't a surprise that not all of them were thrilled with the casting of Dornan and his co-star Dakota Johnson, who portrays Anastasia Steele. But while speaking with Details for its February issue, Dornan admitted he is actually scared for his life at the film's premiere in February.
The Irish actor thinks there is "weirder s**t" than S&M fun that people enjoy, such as "plane spotting."
Jamie Dornan's latest role sees him play kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E. L. James's bestselling erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' and as the release date approaches, the Irish actor reveals he has no qualms with people enjoying S&M sex.
Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey in the forthcoming adaptation
"I'm an extremely liberal person, I don't give a f**k," the model-turned-actor told the February issue of British GQ. "If people are into that they're into that. By the way, if people make such a hoo-hah about the violence against women aspect of it, it's far more common for men to be the submissive. And it's consensual! There's weirder s**t than that. I think plane spotting is far weirder than S&M. That I really don't get. I can understand why people are into S&M, but standing outside Heathrow Terminal 5 waiting for Ryanair to come in?"

From young adult favourites such as The Maze Runner to the family friendly Boxtrolls and of course Fifty Shades of Grey, here’s our pick of 10 book to screen movies we just can’t help getting excited for!
Gone Girl - In Gone Girl Ben Affleck stars as the husband we’re just not sure we can trust as Gillian Flynn’s thriller makes its way onto the big screen. From the trailer, this one looks like it could be even better than the book thanks to Affleck’s believable performance and the casting of Neil Patrick Harris. Gone Girl hits theatres this October, but in the meantime you can watch the trailer here.
Fifty Shades of Grey - Perhaps the most anticipated book to movie adaptation in recent years, Fifty Shades of Grey stars Jamie Dornan as the seductive Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. While the book has famously been described as ‘mummy porn’, there are some fearful that the upcoming movie may be a little too tame for E.L. James’s loyal readers. Directed by Sam Taylor Wood, there’s no doubt that Fifty Shades of Grey will have one massive box office opening when it hits theatres on Valentines Day 2015. But if you just cant wait, you can first get a taste of the action with the newly released trailer here.

Beyonce teased us all over the weekend, when she shared a 15 second teaser for the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie on her Instagram page. The fustratingly short teaser is just the beginning for Fifty Shades fans, as the movie’s first full trailer is set to drop this Thursday. So what has this ever so tantalising Fifty Shades teaser left us wondering ahead of Thursday’s big reveal?
Jamie Dornan will soon be breaking hearts as Christian Grey
After our very brief encounter with Mr Grey the big question on everyone’s lips is what could Queen Bey’s possible Fifty Shades involvement be? In the trailer a slowed down version of Beyonce’s 2004 classic ‘Crazy In Love’ could be heard, but does this mean she’s involved in the movie’s soundtrack? And if so what does that really mean, will she be offering us some new material, or will it all be rewordings of older songs? Seriously who’d have guessed that a Fifty Shades of Grey teaser would leave us all talking about Beyonce?
The "Sons of Anarchy" actor is still very invested in the project.
In case you’re not interested in Fifty Shades of Grey news, look away now. Actually, you may want to disconnect from the internet for the next week or so. Between Beyonce’s recent Instagram teaser and the full-length trailer for the adaptation of E. L. James’ erotic novel coming this Thursday, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will be pretty much inescapable in the days ahead.
Charlie Hunnam still wants to see Fifty Shades of Grey.
In other Fifty Shades news, Charlie Hunnam, formerly cast to star in the steamy flick, has spoken out about his exit from the project one month after the announcement of his casting. According to the Associated Press, Hunnam spoke at a Fox event on Sunday as part of the TCA press tour – and he only had kind words for E. L. James, Fifty Shades director Sam Taylor-Johnson and the story overall.
Can Jamie Dornan be the next big star before Fifty Shades of Grey with New Worlds?
By this time next year Jamie Dornan will probably be a household name, thanks to his starring role in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey. Whilst we might be sitting back and waiting for Chrsitian Grey to hit the big screen, Jamie is doing nothing of the sort. Instead he has a new TV show, New Worlds, beginning tonight on Channel 4. So before we've even seen him as Christian Grey, we've got to ask, is Jamie Dornan Hollywood's next big star?
Jamie Dornan who is starring in New Worlds
There was a time when Jamie Dornan’s name had to be preceded with the words Kiera Knightly’s ex, thankfully those days are over. Belfast born Jamie dated the actress between 2003 and 2005, back when he was a model who appeared in campaigns alongside Kate Moss and Eva Mendes. The modelling career wasn't going too bad, but Jamie soon began to turn his attention to acting. He first had a small part in 2006’s Marie Antoinette which was followed up by a 2008 Myspace film release entitled Beyond the Rave. Neither roles saw Jamie's acting carrer take off and it would be a few years before Dornan landed his big break. It would be through television, not movies that Dornan would finally start to see his acting career take off.
Book adaptions are all the rage for movie-makers, we can't wait to see this lot finally make it to the big screen.
Film adaptions of books are currently the hottest ticket in film making. Studios seemed to have realised that with popular books comes a ready made fan base, although this can be a double edged sword. Sure, you’re attracting big crowds, but they’re also going to be much more scrutinising when it comes to the plot lines and characters that they know and love. These upcoming book adaptions have got a lot of draw, let’s hope they live up to fan expectations.

Young British talents Joe Dempsie, Freya Mavor, Jamie Dornan and Alice Englert star in this period drama
‘New Worlds’ is Peter Flannery’s sequel to the excellent English Civil War drama 'The Devil’s Whore.' Set in the 1680s, the drama sees two young men and two young women – from different sides of the Atlantic - take on the powers that be in a fight against tyranny and for love.
New Worlds kicks off tonight (April 1) at 9pm on Channel 4
"It shows the beginning of the American dream," explains 19-year-old Alice Englert, one of the four young British talents starring in the Channel 4 drama. "What will be fascinating for UK audiences is looking at the beginning, how that dream was always going to be built on something quite… gross."

Alessandro Proto, a 39 year-old real estate agent from Italy, is supposedly E. L James' inspiration behind the S&M obsessed billionaire Christian Grey in her best selling erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The inspiration behind the mysterious billionaire business man Christian Grey, is an Italian real estate agent?
Alessandro Proto, who has reportedly brokered homes in his home nation to Hollywood's elite actors, is believed to be E L James' inspiration for the titular role in the erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The 39 year-old met the British author back in 2010 when James was travelling around Italy while writing a piece on global celebrities buying properties in the country.
The first poster teasing "Fifty Shades" is out for all to enjoy.
After the Fifty Shades of Grey movie got a cast and a release date, on Friday the first official poster was revealed. Like everything else around the film’s promotion, the poster is very minimal, featuring only Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, with his back turned to the camera, gazing at the Seattle skyline. The tagline “Mr. Grey will see you now” is featured prominently above the photo, with the release date – Valentine’s Day 2015 – below it. the only other words on the poster are a link to fiftyshadesmovie.com (apart from the logos of the movie studio and production partners).
Fans will have to wait a while longer for a poster featuring Dakota Johnson.
Meanwhile, it’s full steam ahead on production in Vancouver. Things are getting so steamy in fact that the neighbors are starting to complain. That’s not a figure of speech either – residents in the Vancouver neighborhood where the movie is being filmed have complained about the rain machine being used causing a disruption, according to MTV News.
The filming of the '50 Shades of Grey' movie is no less mayhem-filled than the casting.
If you thought that the shooting of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie would be any easier than the chaotic casting, you were pretty wrong. After having hiccups in the early stages, including the walk-out of the former Christian Grey, Charlie Hunnam, as well as the film's seeming inability to nail down any committed cast members apart from Dakota Johnson, filming is finally underway in Vancouver.
Dakota Johnson Has Made A Success of Her '50 Shades' Role.
Reports from the shoot suggest that the movie, which is based on author EL James' erotic trilogy, seems to be well-cast with Johnson and Jamie Dornan enjoying chemistry in their roles as Ana Steele and her lover Grey. "Dakota is nailing her role," says E!News' source, adding "Everyone on set loves Dakota." Indeed, Sam Taylor-Johnson's directing seems to be working out pretty well too. "Sam has a great relationship with the actors," the movie source says. "The script is running smoothly and there is not a lot of re-shooting that has had to be done."

Ora will join the cast as Christian Grey's adopted sister.

Will Universal release two versions of 'Fifty Shades of Grey'?
A more explicit version of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie may be released alongside the R-rated cut, according to producer Dana Brunetti.
"It'll be R, obviously it has to be R," he told Collider, "This is just my opinion and this doesn't mean this is going to happen, but I always thought it would be really cool if we released the R version and then we had an NC-17 version that we released a few weeks later."
"So everybody could go and enjoy the R version, and then if they really wanted to see it again and get a little bit more gritty with it then have that NC-17 version out there as well.

Unlike the departed Charlie Hunnam, Dornan is more than ready to step into Christian Grey's shoes
Jamie Dornan was announced as the replacement for the departed Charlie Hunnam to star in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation weeks ago, earning him one of Hollywood's most attention-grabbing starring roles to appear on the upcoming film radar. Speaking as the cover star for Entertainment Weekly, Dornan addressed the pressures of his upcoming role, as well as the route he took to get to where he is and how he is preparing himself for the role.
This is by far the most high-profile role the Northern Irish actor has been given in his time as an actor, yet this is a project that Dornan says he is looking forward to, rather than one whose gradual approach he is dreading. After taking over from Hunnam after he unceremoniously walked away from the project in mid-October, Dornan has had little time to prepare for his role, but as he explained in the recent interview, he has already begun putting in the work to achieve the right body look for Grey, as well as finding the right mindset to portray a sexually deviant billionaire.
“I certainly don’t fear it,” Dornan began his talk. “I already got a glimpse into working with [director] Sam [Taylor-Johnson] at the test, and I’d met [co-star] Dakota [Johnson] by then. So I had a glimpse into how I felt it would be if I got the part. None of it scared me.”

Following countless pre-production mishaps, the decision to delay the film's release doesn't really come as a surprise
The much-discussed movie adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey has been hit with a barrage of problems ever since Universal acquired the rights to EL James' erotic novel. With the most recent issue to affect the film - Charlie Hunnam's exit, followed some time after by Jamie Dornan's eventual casting - only recently being resolved, it doesn't really come as too much of a surprise to learn that studio bosses have decided to delay the film's release for another few months.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are the film's stars
Originally slated for a 1 August 2014 release, it has since been announced that the film will instead debut in February 2015, coinciding with Valentines Day. Shooting was put back following Hunnam's exit, having originally been slated to begin this month.

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" may have encountered yet more problems, leading to a postponed release date.
In a new twist, the constant bumps in the road for the Fifty Shades of Grey project may have resulted in the release date being postponed for 2015. Reuters reports that Universal Pictures made the announcement on Wednesday. The original release date – August 1, 2014, has been pushed back for February 13 the following year – just in time for Valentine’s day.
Universal made no comment on the reason for the postponed release date, but it may be related to Charlie Hunnam, who was cast to portray protagonist Christian Grey, pulling out of the project on October 13 this year. Hunnam was quickly replaced, however, when Irish actor Jamie Dornan signed on to star alongside Dakota Johnson on October 24. This means that casting problems are probably not the cause of the delay after all.
The film is slated to begin shooting in December. It will be distributed by Universal Pictures' Focus Features. Despite the 50 Shades trilogy having been panned by many critics, the book became the fastest selling paperback of all time in Britain. It remains to be seen whether the adaptation will achieve similar success. The 2015 release date means that it is possible for the film to lose a lot of the built-in buzz from the book release.

The British actor was picked for the main '50 Shades of Grey' role ahead of a host of other favourites
Jamie Dornan, now heres a name that doesn't really exude familiarity or instant recognition. That was until he was chosen for the lead male role in the Universal and Focus Features adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey however. Now Dornan can expect to see himself being mentioned on a daily basis and his stock price rise to all new levels - at least until the 50 Shades film comes out that is.
Dornan might be the ideal choice for Christian Grey
Before things begin to take off, there are a few things we should know about Dornan before he enters the new role, and even though he isn't everyones ideal replacement for Charlie Hunnam, it's easy to see why he has been chosen to play the hunky, S&M-obsessed billionaire.
The '50 Shades of Grey' movie has cast Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey.
Jamie Dornan has signed on to play Christian Grey in Universal and Focus Films' adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey - the bestselling erotic novel by E.L James. Dornan - an Irish actor with only a modest CV - replaces Charlie Hunnam who infamously backed out of the project just 2 weeks before filming was set to begin in Vancouver.
It's likely that Dornan came to the producer's attentions for his excellent turn in the BBC series The Fall, with The X-Files' Gillian Anderson. Playing a bereavement psychologist moonlighting as serial killer, Dornan proved he could do the whole glassy-eyed maniac thing.
Speaking with Digital Spy of one particularly disturbing scene, the former model said, "I spent a day strangling myself on the back of a door while I masturbated to a driving license of one of my victims. That's not an easy day at the office! And they cut it out! I couldn't believe it-they didn't even tell me. When I first watched the series, it just wasn't there!"

Following Charlie Hunnam's departure from the film adaption of E.L. James' erotic novel, we have another Christian Grey.
Jamie Dornan is officially the new Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey movie. The actor was revealed as the successor to Charlie Hunnam, who left the 50 Shades of Grey project amidst reports that he had gotten cold feet due to the immense pressure and exposure of the role, late on Wednesday, 23 October, via a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
Jamie Dornan will hopefully be a more popular appointment that Hunnam
The 31-year-old Once Upon A Time actor beat off a host of competing actors all vying for the high-profile role, and was chosen over a host of favorites for the role, including Matt Bomer and Alexander Skarsgard. With Dornan's casting, the film can once again begin to pick up steam and finally begin filming, following weeks of frantic searching for a new Grey. With the appointment, the film may still be finished in time to reach the scheduled 1 August, 2014 release date.
Finally Charlie Hunnam's replacement has been announced and it is fellow Brit, Jamie Dunan, who will be the new 'Christian Grey'.
Dornan will be replacing fellow Brit Charlie Hunnam, who backed out of the leading man role earlier this month (Oct 12th).
Hunnam and Universal released a statement confirming his departure from the project citing an "immersive TV schedule," being the reason for his exit, "which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey."

Universal head honchos, producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, director Sam Taylor-Johnson and author EL James have drafted a list of four men they want to replace Hunnam, they include: Jamie Dornan, Christian Cooke and Alexander Skarsgard.
The studio is reeling with less than three weeks before the start of production, though the real reasons for the mess it's in appear to be filtering out.
The 50 Shades of Grey movie success hinges on getting one thing right: the 50 Shades of Grey cast.
The 50 Shades of Grey cast is in turmoil, as we know. Charlie Hunnam, the strange but intriguing choice to play billionaire Christian Grey, pulled out of the project owing to his immersive television schedule.
Of course, both and he and his agent will have known all to well his commitments to Sons of Anarchy and it's far more likely - as reports suggest - that the relative newcomer was overawed by both the opposition to his casting and the general fervour for the film.

Little Known actor, Jamie Dornan, is reportedly the favourite to replace Charlie Hunnam for the 'Christian Grey' role.
Charlie Hunnam backing out of playing 'Christian Grey' in the film adaptation of '50 Shades of Grey' has left fans waiting in anticipation for the new male lead to be announced.
The article reported that the films production team, including director Sam Taylor-Johnson, have drafted a list of four men they desire to try-out for the role of billionaire S&M fan 'Christian Grey'.
The latest actor rumoured for the part of Christian Grey might not fit the popularity level, but he does have the looks.
Charlie Hunnam quit the Fifty Shades of Grey project a few days ago, but the ripples of his exit are still being felt throughout the internet. This is mostly because, as of today, there is still no news as to who will replace the Sons of Anarchy actor and take on the role of Christian Grey. One fan favorite for the part seems to be Matt Bomer, although he hasn’t publicly expressed any interest and his name reportedly doesn’t feature in Universal’s uber-secret list of Christian Grey hopefuls.
Hunnam's exit has thrown the production in a state of chaos.
Said list includes a few actors, whom Universal chairman Donna Langley, producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, director Sam Taylor-Johnson and author EL James are reportedly considering for the role, now that they are left in a desperate scramble to replace Hunnam in time for the start of filming – November 1. This oh-so-secretive list – part of which was nonetheless revealed by The Hollywood Reporter – also includes British TV stars Jamie Dornan, 31, and Christian Cooke, 26.
Is Jamie Dornan the new Christian Grey?
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie appears to be in turmoil. With now just 17 days until the first day of filming in Vancouver, the project - headed by Sam Taylor-Johnson - is without a leading man after Charlie Hunnam dropped out, citing a packed schedule.
Of course, Hunnam and his agent will have known his commitments to Sons of Anarchy when initially taking the part, therefore reports the actor got cold feet are probably not too far off the mark.
Hunnam was set to play the young, rich businessman Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation of E.L. James 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' which will undoubtedly contain the explicit sex scenes featured in the controversial novel.
