METALLICA singer James Hetfield will give a supergroup performance at an addiction charity fundraiser in Los Angeles next month (MAY06). Hetfield will take to the stage with Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney, as well as Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, at Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theater on 12 May (06). The concert will raise money for the MusiCares MAP Fund, which helps people in the music industry receive addiction treatment, regardless of how much money they have. Both Metallica and Alice In Chains have struggled with drug addictions - the THEM BONES hitmakers lost vocalist Layne Staley to a fatal overdose in 2002.
