Residents of James Dean's hometown in Indiana are planning a free screening of his classic movie East of Eden as a tribute to what would have been the star's 80th birthday on Tuesday (08Feb11).
Local officials have confirmed they will show the film, for which the iconic star earned a posthumous Oscar nomination for Best Actor, in Fairmount this weekend (12-13Feb11).
Dean was born in Marion but was raised in Fairmount, and was buried in the town following his death in a car crash in 1955.
