British actor James Corden was given an extra boost on the day of his Tony Award win as his young son took his first steps during the build-up to the prizegiving.
The funnyman's fiancee Julia Carey gave birth to their son, Max, now 15 months, just days before he started rehearsals for the London production of One Man, Two Guvnors, which transferred to Broadway earlier this year (12).
In June (12), Corden won the prestigious Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play and he has revealed the day also marked another massive milestone in his life.
In a column for the New York Post, he writes, "On the day of the Tonys, my son walked on his own for the first time. I was getting dressed into my tuxedo and he just stood up and walked over to me, held out his hand and put it in mine. It was almost as if he was telling me that if I didn't win, today would still be a good day."
