Who was expecting him to belt out a falsetto?
It turns out, James Corden isn’t a world-class opera singer, so his turn as Paul Potts in the upcoming feel good movie One Chance doesn’t feature his voice, no; that’s Paul Potts you can hear. Anyone surprised?
Corden - He can sing, but not that well guys!
“It was very, very straightforward – I would pretend to be singing opera, and then Paul would go into the studio and loop to my mouth,” Corden revealed. “I hope I haven’t given it away too much, but that’s basically what happened.”
As a true story, it’s pretty difficult to give anything away, but Corden did manage to sort of ruin the ending, somehow. He said he felt less pressure to play Potts, as the film finishes up when he steps onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage, the moment the U.K – and the world – came to know him.
The film is full of celebrity cameos, like Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Pavarotti, and Taylor Swift – who chose to be involved because of Potts’ incredible story – will surely steal the show with her ending credit song.

“It’s amazing to be a part of this project. It’s a movie that really moved me in a way that I haven’t been moved in a long time, and to to have just a small part in telling the story[...]I wrote the end-credit song so it’s the last thing you see of the story and I’m really, really honoured," said Swift. Having premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, a few early reviews are in, including The Guardian’s, who give Once Chance a three-star review. “The movie is strongest is when it strips away the facts and focuses on the emotional notes,” reads the review.
