Former James Bond hunk Pierce Brosnan has turned down the chance to reprise his role as the superspy in a Quentin Tarantino 007 spoof.

The Kill Bill director reportedly wanted the Irish actor to star in a comedy remake of SIR IAN FLEMING's first Bond book Casino Royale.

But, despite being dropped by MGM from the Bond franchise, Brosnan doesn't want to damage the character's image.

A source says, "Pierce is flattered that Quentin wanted him but has politely declined. He wants to move on to other roles and doesn't want to taint a character and a franchise that has been so good to him.

"It would have been tempting to take revenge for the treatment he received by Bond producers but he's happy to just leave them to it and get on with bigger and better projects."
