Jake Johnson reacts to acting alongside Prince for the Super Bowl episode of 'New Girl': "He's really nice and he told us he was a fan of the show."
The Fox sitcom 'New Girl' welcomed a new cast member on set for their upcoming Super Bowl episode.
The 55 year-old will play himself and invites 'Jess' to a house party at one of his mansions, but as soon as her pals get wind of this, they try to do anything to attend.
This will be the very first time Prince has appeared on a comedy TV show.
Jake Johnson, who plays Jess's love interest Nick, recently spoke to E!News about the pressure to act with such a big star and how he feels about Prince giving his character some relationship advice.
"We got Prince. It's pretty good." Johnson said to E! on the red carpet at Fox's TCA All Stars party on Monday (Jan 13th).
"Here's the reality, which is really neat: Prince came on and he's really nice and he told us he was a fan of the show. And his whole group, like he travels with the whole band, they all watch the show. It was really neat because we're all such big fans of him," he added.
Prince will be joining the 'New Girl' cast for one episode only
When asked about what kind of advice the 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' singer dishes out, Johnson was tight lipped and didn't want to give anything away.
"You gotta watch the episode. I can't give that away," he said. "But what I can say is that it's a really fun one."
Executive producer Brett Baer was a bit more generous in spilling information on the upcoming episode, "He's right in the middle of trying to help [Nick and Jess] work through some stuff and it's amazing," Baer said.
"His thing was all about getting to Jess and trying to bring out this inner part of her that hadn't been brought to the forefront. The word hip tips was sort of the thing. He put it, I think I can give her some hip tips!"
This episode will air directly after the 48th annual Super Bowl on February 2nd 2014.
