'Twilight' actor Jackson Rathbone has welcomed his first son, Monroe Jackson Rathbone VI, with his girlfriend Sheila Hafsadi
'Twilight' actor Jackson Rathbone has become a father for the first time.
The 27-year-old star - who plays brooding vampire Jasper Hale alongside Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the popular film franchise - and his girlfriend Sheila Hafsadi became parents for the first time yesterday (05.07.12) to a boy named Monroe Jackson Rathbone VI.
Jackson shared his joy with fans via twitter, writing: ''Thank you ALL for the love & support! Sheila & I couldn't be happier to have such a beautiful, healthy baby boy, Monroe Jackson Rathbone VI.''
He added: ''Feeling so blessed! What an amazing day! Love and respect, Bone Daddy.''
Jackson's representative told People magazine that the baby was born at 9:43 am and weighed eight lbs, 11 oz. The actor - real name Monroe Jackson Rathbone V - has continued the tradition of passing down the family name.
Jackson met his burlesque dancer girlfriend Sheila when he was touring with his band 100 Monkeys, and announced that she was expecting a baby boy in March.
Jackson has reportedly swapped his two cars for a more family-friendly Lexus Hybrid SUV.
The actor recently confessed he would be interested in playing Jasper in future 'Twilight' spin-off films, now that filming for the fifth and final installment 'Breaking Dawn Part III' has wrapped.
He said: ''They are always discussing it, it depends how they would go about it. I have loved my character and I have loved playing Jasper through the years, so if there is an extension of playing Jasper - more so in his own element, maybe go back in time and do a vampire western, show Jasper where he came from - I would be down for that. I would sign up for that.''
