Jack White has marked the first anniversary of the official White Stripes split by announcing news of his debut solo album.
He and bandmate Meg White parted ways on 2 February last year (11) and now White is heading out on his own.
Blunderbuss will be released in April (12) on White's Third Man Records label.
The rocker says, "I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colours on my own canvas."
