Jack Nicholson is to sell his infamous Malibu Mansion.

Jack Nicholson, who celebrated his 74th birthday yesterday (22/4), is to sell the $4.25 millon (2.65 million sterling) property, the site of which covers over 70 acres on the Californian coastline.

Nicholson has owned the property since 1978, alongside other homes in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. The mansion is 3 bed/2 bathroom with, according to the LA times, 'a ranch-style main house, a caretaker home, a tennis court, a cabana, a putting green, a swimming pool and a grotto-style spa. Built in 1966, has mountain and ocean views and is zoned for equestrian use.'

Nicholson will keep his nearby Mullholland Drive property, which famously abutted Marlon Brando's estate. They remained close until the actor's death in 2006, at which point Nicholson had to demolish his friend's house due to advancing damp.

The infamous ladies man recently admitted to the Daily Mail he was slowing down now he is into his 70s: ' I've struck bio-gravity. I can't hit on women in public any more. I didn't just decide this, it just doesn't feel right at my age."

After finishing romantic comedy How Do You Know alongside Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson last year, there is much speculation as to what the Oscar winning actor's next project will be. As yet nothing has been confirmed.
