Suburbicon Trailer

In the quiet, seemingly perfect land of suburbia, a businessman named Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) has everything. A high-flying career, a beautiful home, a wife and a young son, but when his house gets broken into by thugs who kill his wife, he starts to begin to understand the immensity of some of the mistakes he's made in his life. He's being hunted by loan sharks who happen to have connections to the mob, and they intend to get their money back no matter what the costs. When it starts to become clear that everything he has left is at stake, he decides to take matters into his own hands and give those mobsters as good as they give. Soon the neighbourhood transforms into one of the bloodiest in the area, and even his sister Margaret (Julianne Moore) gets dragged into her brother's vengeful scheme.

Judas Kiss Review

Good
Intrigue and sexiness mix together in Judas Kiss, just not very well. Carla Gugino, Gil Bellows, Simon Baker, and Til Schweiger make an unlikely band of scam artists-cum-kidnappers, but it's cop partners Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson (both with outrageously bad New Orleans accents) that really make you wonder who the hell cast this thing. Tons of stars, including Hal Holbrook in an exceptionally over-the-top role, make this movie fun but unspectacular.

Out Of The Black Review

Very Good
Karl Kozak turns in a credible and promising directorial performance with Out of the Black, a pot-boiling drama about a decaying mining town and the nefarious behaviors of its denizens.

The film finds us in rural Pennsylvania, where angsty twentysomething Cole Malby (Tyler Christopher) and his quiet brother Patrick (Jason Widener) butcher meat and fix electronics in order to pay for a life filled with beer drinking and hell raising. What's with all the hair tearing? Their father died in a mine explosion 13 years in the past. An accident? Or does Cole remember veiled threats and a gunshot when he visited his pop on that fateful day? Even worse was when the young Cole took a shot at his abusive old man, hitting mom (Sally Kirkland) instead.
