Jack Black has been announced as the host of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards on April 2nd 2011.
JACK BLACK, the American actor and star of 'Gulliver's Travels', is set to host the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for the third time, reports Entertainment Weekly. The show will air live from Los Angeles and feature guest appearances from the likes of Will Ferrell and Justin Bieber. The 41-year-old said he was thrilled that the network had invited him back, adding, "Anyone can host something once. But if they ask you back a second time, that means they liked the way you did it. And if you host a third time, that means the first time wasn't a fluke, and it means you did good two times". Previous hosts have included the comedy actor Ben Stiller, former wrestler Dwayne Johnson and the singer Justin Timberlake. PAULA KAPLAN, head of talent at Nickelodeon, says hosts of the show have a tougher job than those at other awards ceremonies, saying, "It's not like hosting the Oscars where you're performing for a bunch of adults who'll laugh and pretend they like it because that's the polite thing to do. Kids wear their emotions on their sleeves, and if they don't like it, they'll tell you. So some adults are fearful of that honesty. Jack is up for anything."
Black is currently filming 'The Muppets' movie, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on 23rd November 2011. The film has an all-star cast that includes, Ricky Gervais, ZACH GALIFIANKIS and EMILY BLUNT.
