For the 16,000 fans who attended Drake's OVO Fest show in Toronto, the whole evening was full of perfect "I Was There" moments with appearances from the exalted lords and ladies of R&B and hiphop royalty.

With an acronym that stands for 'October's Very Own' (October referring to Drake's birth month), OVO Festival is an event that has seen success in recent years and looks to get even bigger still. Previous years have seen performances from Stevie Wonder, Snoop Lion, Eminem, Jay Z and Nicki Minaj but the Canadian rapper and organiser outdid himself at OVO Fest 2013.

The festival experiences issues early in the evening getting everybody in on time due to fans changing their two day tickets to single day ones after Frank Ocean's bad throat pull-out last week. This ticket mishap meant that hundreds of fans were left stuck outside the arena and missed the performances of singer James Blake and rapper Wale.

Dressed in a Canadian baseball shirt, Drake emerged to play 'Headlines' and said early on in the show, "I don't know if you can tell on my face, but I got some s*** for you tonight," performing "5 A.M In Toronto," and proceeding to welcome Big Sean and French Montana to help in perform songs such as 'Pop That' and 'Clique.'

Watch From TLC & Drake's Performance At OVO Fest:

They had been rumoured to be performing, but no one actually expected 1990s megastars TLC to make their OVO Fest debut. Drake welcomed Chilli and T-Boz onto the stage, "I'd like you to make some noise for the legendary TLC," and the leather-clad R&B stars (minus the deceased Left-Eye) delighted with hits 'Waterfall' and 'No Scrubs.'

The lights dazzling, the music majestic, the crowd frenzied; Kanye West came onstage to wild applause and broke into 'New Slave' before thanking Drake for pushing him in his career before Drake came along and reciprocated in kind.

Lil Wayne, one of the evening's final guests said "Before I leave the stage, can you make some noise for what this man has accomplished?...I'm happy to be a piece of this puzzle." "I love this city more than anything in the motherf******' world," yelled Drake before he bowed out to rapturous crowd noise with no encore needed.

Drake's upcoming album, Nothing Was The Same, will be released on 17th September.
