Isaiah Washington's new play based on the life of late comedian Richard Pryor has been shelved due to financial problems.
Unspeakable, a biographical show about the famed funnyman, was due to launch at the Royal George Theatre in Chicago, Illinois next month (Oct12).
However, producers have now confirmed the run has been axed "due to major funding that did not come through," according to industry website Playbill.com.
Theatre-goers are being offered refunds on their tickets and bosses hope the play will be revived in the spring (13).
