Isaac Mizrahi, the American TV presenter and fashion designer, has married Arnold Gerner, his partner of six years. The Project Runway: All Stars judge made the announcement on the Wendy Williams Show, according to People magazine. He jokingly waved his hand around until the talk show host acknowledged his new wedding ring.
The couple married at City Hall, New York. Marriage between same sex couples has only been legal in the state of New York since July 2011. Mizrahi commented "We didn't think we wanted to get married until they said we could in New York, and then it was like, 'We're getting married!'" He went on to discuss their low-key ceremony by saying "We were at a dinner party [when we told everyone] and people have ideas. You have to have a series of parties, Vera Wang has to be called ... it's like, start now! We were terrified and decided to just elope at City Hall."
Isaac Mizrahi made his name as a fashion designer and counts Sarah Jessica Parker, Selma Blair and Nicole Kidman among his celebrity clients. The first episode of Project Runway: All Stars was aired on January 5, 2012. He is unlikely to be asked to present The Red Carpet Show at the forthcoming Golden Globes, after he upset a number of high profile actresses, including Scarlett Johansson when he presented the show in 2006.
