Kiss Me Guido Review

Weak
The tagline of this movie, and I'm not making this up, is this: "When he answered the ad for a roommate he thought that 'GWM' meant... 'Guy With Money?'" They printed that on hundreds -- nay, thousands of posters. That's supposed to get you to want to watch this movie. That's supposed to make you laugh. Sadly, the rest of Kiss Me Guido is as dumb as its tagline. Essentially this is an "I didn't know my new roommate was super-gay!" story, a plot so thin it couldn't even carry a half-hour sitcom. Sadly, the rest of the movie is no more memorable, so this is one you should probably forget.

54 Review

OK
Extremely watery and soap opera-ish, this expose on the inner workings of Studio 54 at the end of the 1970s is pretty tame. Sure, drugs, sex, money, booze, etc. were all free-flowing. But who didn't know that? The fictionalized story of a bartender's rise to power that's weaved in here doesn't make the film any better.

All this culminates in an obviously re-edited (the film has lost 20-some minutes of running time and has earned a new, meaningless title) strike with the gals taking over the school.
