The Research
The Research Biography
Georgia smiled at Russell in the corridor of an old converted hunting lodge with a huge stainless steel kitchen as they were moving in. Russell looked straight past Georgia, but it wasn't his fault... he is socially retarded. Nevertheless, she still holds it against him. Every day they would share a car to college where they would see Sarah. They didn't actually speak to her for another two years. She was unapproachably friendly. Sarah wrote and performed pretty songs on a blue acoustic guitar. Russell loved songs platonically, from a distance. Georgia loved boys, less platonically, at quite close range. In the summer of 2003, Russell asked Sarah if she'd consider playing the drums in a new band with him. She said she couldn't play the drums. He said "how hard can it be?" By this time Georgia and Russell had the kind of relationship that had surpassed politeness and consideration. Russell informed Georgia she would be the bass player in this new band. They thought 'The Research' sounded like a fashionable name. By the time they realised they needed an 's' on the end it was too late.
