Fronted by Tennessee born vocalist Nathan Nicholson, the London-based four-piece have built up quite a fanbase since they began gigging earnestly two years ago. In 2003 they were spotted by Alan McGee performing in the New Band's Tent at Glastonbury. He promptly asked them to play that very next week at his Death Disco night at Notting Hill Arts Club. This in turn lead to a deal with Poptones and the release of two limited edition singles and 'Watermelon' and 'In Pursuit'. 'Code Red' is the first Poptones single to be released through Mercury Records, with whom Poptones have formed a long-term partnership involving some of their acts. The Boxer Rebellion's debut album will be released in February 2005.
