Ted Nugent’s ‘Gun Country’ Show Axed By Discovery Channel

Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent’s TV special Gun Country will not be returning to the Discovery Channel, it has been announced. A rep for the cable channel confirmed the news to FOX411, in the wake of the recent Newtown, Connecticut massacre, which left 26 dead. Ted Nugent has not responded to Fox’s request for comment though back in October, he had stated that he wished to air his show “as a regular feature” and had expected that he would make “at least a dozen shows a year.”

Gun-related reality shows have become staple viewing fodder in the USA but a number of these have now announced that they will be ceasing production. One of those, American Guns, has been cancelled after “two successful seasons,” and released a statement to announce “Discovery Channel chose not to renew the series and has no plans to air repeats of the show,” though they did not provide a reason for the cancellation.

Jesse Csincsak, who made a guest appearance on American Guns, has expressed his disappointment at the news that the show will not be returning to US TV screens, saying that guns were simply being used as a scapegoat. “Americans always look for something to blame things on, so since guns have been involved in a lot of crimes lately – hey, let’s blame guns… Once people stop blaming the objects and start blaming the people using them, the world we live in will be a better place.”

The outcome of the election was disappointing to him... to say the least, here’s what he had to say, in a rather ridiculous twitter rant.

Kicking things off, pre-election: a little warning for his fellow Americans…
