George Lucas' third film, 1977's Star Wars, changed everything for the director.
The movie is a simple tale of morality, good versus evil told across a fantastical universe of bizarre creatures and strange lands, Star Wars became an international phenomenon, despite the fact that few saw its potential during production.
Lucas founded his own visual effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, to produce the shots that were required to make his amazing vision a reality.
Star Wars broke all box-office records, set new standards for sophistication in film visuals and collected eight Academy Awards.
Star Wars also inspired a generation of young people to follow their imagination and dreams.

I was at the convention and would have loved to see an interview w/ Natalie Portman. None of the big stars were there and I just figured they were to busy for a Star Wars Convention of fans. Natalie as Queen Amadala is one of my favorite characters. Maybe they will invite her to the London convention. |
