Bob And The Monster Trailer

Bob Forrest was at the height of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll era of the eighties as he toured the States with his punk rock band Thelonious Monster, taking in every narcotic that became available to him. He took so many drugs and consumed so much alcohol that he became a shadow of his former self, unable to stay stood up on stage, regularly falling unconscious and frequently causing a scene wherever he happened to venture. He went to more than 20 rehabilitation clinics over 9 years to try and get clean while struggling to be around for his son Elijah, until he managed to pull through and turn his life around forever. He is now one of the most sought after and influential drug counsellors in America who has help the likes of so many big musicians transform their lives including Hole's Courtney Love and Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis.

You Can Take Scott Weiland Out Of Stone Temple Pilots, But You Can't Take The Pilot Out Of Weiland

Stone Temple Pilots Scott Weiland Chester Bennington

Stone Temple Pilots, the band, is pressing on with performances, but former vocalist Scott Weiland isn’t happy. After he split up from bandmates Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz, Weiland maintains that the band is no longer the same – to the point where it shouldn’t be called Stone Temple Pilots anymore.

The alternative rocker explained himself in a statement on his website earlier this week, USA Today reports. In it, Weiland claimed: "Like any band that's stood the test of time and made music for more than two decades, STP had a special alchemy — the four of us together were greater than any one of us apart. So if my former bandmates want to tour with a new singer, that's their prerogative. ... But it's not Stone Temple Pilots."

His statement comes on the heals of a few gigs that the remaining members of STP performed with Linking Park lead singer Chester Bennington in California recently. Apparently, Weiland thinks the replacement is not only unethical to him, but also dishonest to fans of the band. In the statement, Weiland goes as far to claim that for the members to continue calling themselves Stone Temple Pilots, because “"because [he is] still a member of the band. And more importantly, they don't have the ethical right to call themselves Stone Temple Pilots because it's misleading and dishonest to the millions of fans that have followed us for so many years.”

'No One Told Me' Scott Weiland Responds After Getting Fired By Stone Temple Pilots

Scott Weiland

Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland has fired back at his now apparently former band mates by claiming that they’d never even told him he was fired, the lead singer claiming he found out about it the same way everyone else did – through the press.

In a statement reported by E! Online, Weiland commented "I learned of my supposed 'termination' from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press.” He continued "Not sure how I can be 'terminated' from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that's something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday."

Stone Temple Pilots Fire Scott Weiland. Passive Agression Ensues.

Stone Temple Pilots Scott Weiland Velvet Revolver

The grunge band Stone Temple Pilots have made some changes to the lineup – well, one big one, to be exact – terminating frontman Scott Weiland.

And if that term sounds somewhat matter-of-fact to you, well that’s because it is. The news came in the form of a conspicuously brief announcement on Wednesday – eleven words to be exact. No reason was given behind bassist Robert DeLeo, guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz’s decision to kick out Weiland. The change comes after the band’s fairly recent reunion in 2008. Before this, during the time apart, Weiland performed with Velvet Revolver, alongside former members of Guns’n’Roses. The vocalist is far from lacking any other options at this point. In fact, he is just about to embark on a solo US tour, starting Friday in Flint Michigan. However, in light of the firing, Weiland certainly didn’t hide his confusion.
