Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2010 and the Barry Award 2011, Russell Kane is a multi-talented writer and performer who has firmly established himself as one the best comics in the UK today.
2012 was quite a year for Russell! As well as embarking on a national tour of his new live show Posturing Delivery, he was back on our screens co-hosting the second series of the much loved Unzipped (formerly Britain Unzipped) on BBC3. He is also gearing up to host the second series of Live at the Electric, also for BBC3. Proving he has many strings to his bow, last April saw the publication of Russell's debut novel The Humorist, to rave reviews, truly marking his entry into the literary sphere.
Aside from winning two of comedy's most prestigious awards, the last couple of years have been prolific for Russell: he rejoined ITV2's I'm A Celebrity.Get Me Out of Here Now presenting team, broadcasting live every night; presented Freak Like Me, a 6 part series for BBC3; he wrote a play called The Great British Country Fete for the Bush Theatre; he made an acclaimed appearance on BBC One's flagship live comedy show Live at the Apollo.
A regular on both Radio and TV panel shows, Russell has appeared on Celebrity Juice (ITV), The Apprentice: You're Fired (BBC2), Set List (Sky Atlantic) and Morgan Spurlock's New Britannia (Sky Atlantic), Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), is a regular guest on The Wright Stuff (Five), It's Your Round (BBC Radio 4), Just a Minute (BBC Radio 4), A Good Read (BBC Radio 4) and Britain's Got More Talent (ITV2), to name but a few.
2011 saw Russell host his own 6 part series for BBC Radio 2 Russell Kane's Whistle Stop Tour. He was a finalist in Let's Dance for Comic Relief; he appeared in all 6 episodes of Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford (ITV1) and was a guest on The Graham Norton Show (BBC1).
