Michael Douglas Biography
Born in 1944 in New Jersey to soon-to-be film star Kirk Douglas, Michael spent most of his early career studiously avoiding his father's legendary clench-jawed delivery. (He was entirely able to avoid his father's equally legendary cleft chin, though it isn't as cavernous as his dad's.) Douglas made his film debut in 1969's Hail, Hero!, but it was in the television series "The Streets of San Francisco" that the public first took notice of the actor as Karl Malden's hot-headed young partner in law enforcement.
