William Shakespeare has had a fairly difficult transition to the silver screen. Sure, his plays have been made into great film adaptations, but whenever the character is portrayed in movies, things seem to go a bit wrong. Thankfully, this new look at the life of the Great Bard is being made by the comedy troupe behind the BBC's television series 'Horrible Histories' and 'Yonderland'.

The comedy group have often been hailed as a modern Monty Python, yet more child-friendly. And now, after two celebrated television series, the cast have been unleashed in their first feature film from BBC Films. Filming in iconic UK locations around Yorkshire, the cast and crew shot in York Minster, Skipton Castle, Bolton Castle, Selby Abbey, as well as Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.

Very Good
Eclectic filmmaker Mackenzie tries out another genre with this frisky, loose romantic comedy filmed at a music festival. The result is thoroughly enjoyable, with the zing of real crowds and musicians overcoming some very corny plot turns.

Adam (Treadaway) and Tyko (Baynton) are the frontmen for the hit band The Make, getting ready to perform at Scotland's huge T in the Park festival. When they have a confrontation with girl band The Dirty Pinks, a stranger handcuffs Adam to lead singer Morello (Tena) in an attempt to bring peace. Adam's grumpy supermodel girlfriend Lake (Gedmintas) isn't finding this funny, and neither is Morello's nice-guy boyfriend Mark (Mackenzie). But the real problem is that the girls are due on stage soon, and no one can find the key.

Adam is one half of the globally successful American indie band 'The Make'. He is arrogant and egotistical and dates a vapid blonde supermodel. Morello is the lead singer in the up and coming all girl punk rock band 'The Dirty Pinks'. She takes pride in the fact that her band has worked hard to get to where they are and is also seeing an insipid banker. Both bands are performing at one of the UK's largest music festivals, and both are taking their respective other halves.

Good
A charming tone and likeable characters make this film thoroughly engaging, with its dry sense of humour and authentic look at the difficulty of launching a music career. But writer-director Borg seems to loose his grip on the narrative in the final act.

Stevie (Bonar) is a slightly nerdy call-centre worker who really wants to be a singer-guitarist in a band with his eccentric drummer pal Neil (Baynton). They invite another guitarist, Billy (Bew), join them, along with his bass-playing friend Emily (Marshal). And after discovering that they work well together, they make a demo and book a few gigs. But will they ever make enough money to give up their day jobs? And how will Stevie cope with the fact that he's falling for Emily, who clearly needs to dump her obnoxious boyfriend (Maythan)?
