Like many major pop stars, Madonna has taken steps into the film industry, putting forward both her acting and directing talents. Among her many roles are Eva Perón in 1996 Oscar winning musical 'Evita', Verity in 2002 Bond film 'Die Another Day' and baseball player Mae Mordabito in 1992 Tom Hanks movie 'A League Of Their Own'. In 2011, she released 'W.E.' - her second film as a directer after 2008's 'Filth and Wisdom'. The Oscar nominated movie detailed a romance between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.
