"I think a lot...," says 23-year-old Kevin Mark Trail, a lean, pensive but affable chronicler of the struggles of everyday street life, who could also pass for the missing genetic link between D'Angelo, Leroy from Fame!, Mike 'The Streets' Skinner, and a certain Mrs Trail of Wembley, North West London, England, 2004. You could equally argue that he thinks too much, because Trail's music is as warm, idiosyncratic, charming and full of empathy as its maker. It goes far beyond the narrow palette of urban music concerns - girls, gold, parties - and into an honest, captivating and emotionally articulate amalgam of soul, reggae and DIY garage that sounds like a lot, but like nothing else simultaneously.
