John Lee Hooker Jr. Brings Smooth Blues To Southampton's The Brook
The second generation blues artist descended on Southampton last night.
Last night marked the sixth tour stop in John Lee Hooker Jr.’s world tour. The famed blues player graced the stage at Southampton’s The Brook on Wednesday (June 19) night and brought the house down with his virtuoso performance. The Detroit native came out on stage at 8pm to perform some of his newest work as well as go through a number of his most famous songs by himself and his father. He was accompanied by Gig Anderson on the keyboard, Geoffrey James on guitar, Mike Rogers and John “Tibo” Thebeaux – some of whom (Rogers and Anderson) have been performing with Hooker since his 2004 tour.
