Jake Bugg

Biography

Jake Bugg (born Jacob Edwin Kennedy, 28.02.1994)
Jake Bugg is an English singer.

Jake Bugg: Childhood
Jake Bugg was born in Nottingham. His parents were both musicians, though his father was also a nurse while his mother was a sales worker.
He was raised on the Clifton council estate though initially had no interest in music, preferring to play football.
He began playing the guitar and singing when he was twelve after his uncle began teaching him the basic chords on a guitar.
He used to play bass in the band The Swiines with his cousin.
He enrolled in a music technology course but dropped out in pursuit of his own singing/songwriting career.

Jake Bugg: Musical career
Jake Bugg first gained attention in 2011 when the BBC selected him for their 'Introducing stage' at Glastonbury Festival. He soon signed with Mercury records.
He has been compared to Bob Dylan though he denies that he is a big influence on his music.
In 2012, he made an appearance on 'Later... with Jools Holland'. Later that year he supported Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds at the Belsonic Music Festival in Belfast.
He released his self-titled debut album which Europe wide chart hit and reached number one in the UK. His third single 'Lightning Bolt' became his highest charting single in 2012 and was played before the London Olympics 100m men's final.
In 2013 he appeared on 'Jools' Annual Hootenanny' and later ITV's 'The Jonathan Ross Show'.
He has been nominated for two NME Awards and a BRIT Award.

Jake Bugg: Personal life
Jake Bugg has been dating model Cara Delevingne since the beginning of 2013.
In 2013, he launched an attack on One Direction branding them 'terrible' and 'manufactured'. He criticised the fact that they don't write their own songs and called Harry Styles 'ugly'. Some of the band members have since hit back and expressed their disappointment at the comments.
