A delicate full frontal exposition, nurturing musical brawn and bashfulness without boundaries. Grammatics rarely rely on the listener for input, flirting instead with any influence and resource at hand to craft a vessel entirely their own. A chorus will never be repeated un-necessarily and any instrument is fair game. This is performance art and pop music perfectly formed.
Grammatics came from York and coagulated in a damp basement on the metropolitan edge of Leeds a little over a year ago, with a shared respect of grandeur and theatrical pretence, Owen throws rags of song to the band in a deeply artistic frenzy and watches them build it around him. Emilia is shy, whispering her vocal, while Dominic and Rory crash through jagged rhythms and wash coherence over it all.
They’ll play on whether or not you like them, but you probably will. Most people do.
