Donny Osmond Biography

Donny was born December 9, 1957 to George and Olive Osmond in Ogden Utah. He is the seventh of nine children: eight boys and one girl. The entire Osmond Family have a long and varied career, which had a humble beginning singing barbershop harmony on Main Street Disneyland. Soon thereafter, Donny and his siblings became very successful teen idols worldwide.

Today, Donny performs at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel with his sister, Marie. The show began back in September 2008 and was originally scheduled to run for 6 months. The response was so overwhelming that the Flamingo immediately asked for a two year extension. The Donny & Marie Show is scheduled to continue through 2012.

Concurrent with his nightly performances at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel, Donny hosts two daily internationally syndicated radio shows for McVay Syndication in a partnership with TeshMedia Group: The Donny Osmond Radio Show and Donny's 8-Track Playback. Formatted to fit both Hot AC and Classic stations, his lifestyle-driven music radio show delivers helpful and insightful information to listeners who are looking for "a friend to help them through the day."

On occasion, Donny co-hosts the nationally syndicated nightly entertainment newsmagazine, "The Insider," and as a special correspondent for its sister show "Entertainment Tonight." He, along with his sister have recently co-hosted two primetime television specials, "Miss USA" and "America's Favorite Mom." The two have a long history of working together that began in the late 70s on the original Donny & Marie show.

2008 was a milestone year for the entire Osmond family, particularly Donny's brothers: Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay - The Osmond Brothers - it marked their 50th anniversary as performers. To commemorate it, the family gathered for a concert which was videotaped and broadcast nationally on PBS as a pledge drive special. Following the concert, the seven performing Osmonds went on a month long tour through the UK, Australia and Asia. It was the first time in 27 years all performing Osmonds were on one stage and also marked the final world tour for the Osmond family as an entire group. An expanded version of the PBS anniversary concert is now available on DVD at donny.com.

Donny has brought so many people together since his comeback in 2001, from all over the globe. He has brought new life and love into our hearts and those of our children and partners too. I have had the pleasure of meeting him on a few occasions and he is so honest and true as I always imagined him to be since the age of 9yrs. I have met his fabulous brothers and family too and love them all.Thank-you Donny so muchxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've seen Donny 3 times now. 2001, and then twice last year. I drove 19 hours each way to see him in Atlanta, then he was in my "backyard" at a 75 + person - him only on stage - at a radio station in Miami. I loved him when he was 5 and I love him now. He is so gifted and I wish I could see him on Broadway. Donny, please come back to Florida !!!!

I saw Donny at the Hammersmith Apollo on Sunday 9th Oct. 05. I was a big fan when I was younger and really went for the craic.I was transported back to being 14 again. I rushed to the stage, the most important thing to me in the whole world was touching him. How disappointed was I when he touched the hands of ladies either side of me!What a great entertainer and what a voice (the base player was very cute too), I enjoyed every minute, old and new songs alike. And what a mover....KISS!!!!! Wow.Roll on the next concert and I for one am off to get his new album. From the 14 year old and the 45 year old, you're great.

Having seen Donny on Friday night (sept 30th 05), I have even more respect for him. The concert was fantastic with him singing a good mixture of old familiar songs along with more recently produced ones. He came across as being a very genuine, caring and respectful person, ensuring that he personally collected from the stage every single flower and card and carefully collating them together. He also ensured that his band were very much a part of the act and appreciated as such. The singing was fantastic, the show was fabulous and he was genuinley lovely ! Brilliant !What a nice guy !
