Neil Hannon was born on November 7th, 1970 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Age 19, Neil and his band - an early incarnation of Divine Comedy - headed for London and got themselves signed to Setanta Records. They released an album, Fanfare For The Comic Muse, and then effectively split up. Temporarily solo, Neil retained the name 'Divine Comedy' and in 1993 released Liberation, which he now considers to be the band's dibut album proper.
