A Dog's Purpose Trailer

If you're lucky enough to have a dog in your life, you'll know that you don't really own them, they are part of your family and are as unique as any other being under your roof.

A Dog's Purpose is a tale that explains just what our furry friends are here for and how they make a great impact on the lives of the people who love them. Ethan's best friend was his dog Bailey, the Golden Retriever; the pair did everything together, Bailey would loyally wait for Ethan to return from school so the pair could go out and play. Ethan and Bailey went everywhere together and Bailey even played a part in finding Ethan his first girlfriend Hannah.

As Bailey grew older he eventually lost his life but that was far from the end of his story. Bailey was still on earth but reincarnated in the body of a German Shepard, the pup had a lot of new things to learn as this life was going to be far tougher than his previous life on the farm. Bailey was now called Ellie and not only is he now a she, Ellie is a police dog and works with search and rescue. Ellie is very close to her new handlers and believes that this role is the reason why she's been put on earth.

Truth Trailer

Mary Mapes is the producer of CBS' '60 Minutes' and, in the run up to the 2004 presidential election, she's looking for a story for her and her team - including anchor Dan Rather - to chase. The team discovers evidence that President George W. Bush failed to complete the required amount of military service during his time in the Texas Air National Guard during the 70s. It's a story that could truly bring down the right wing government if only they can get hold of some solid documents to support the story. That's when Bill Burkett comes in; he's the former Lieutenant Colonel of the Texas Air National Guard and he claims to be in possession of some papers criticising Bush's lack of attendance for his military service, written by his commander at the time Lieutenant Colonel Jerry B. Killian. Unfortunately, in their haste to air the controversial information, the '60 Minutes' team fail to have the documents authenticated - and when several experts out the papers as forgeries, it seems the tables quickly turn on these newscasters in the most devastating way.

Dennis QuaidSo, was Dennis Quaid fooling around, or not?

Meg Ryan And John Mellencamp Split. Why Is Meg Ryan So Unlucky In Love?

Meg Ryan John Mellencamp Dennis Quaid Russell Crowe Graham King

The greatest surprise that celebrity watchers will feel for the split of actor Meg Ryan and singer-songwriter John Mellencamp, was the fact that these two screen veterans were even dating in the first place. Such was the pair’s coyness and clandestine approach to the relationship that their coupling largely flew under the radar. The liaison itself lasted all of three years and marks another in a long list of failed relationships for the now 52 year-old Ryan.

Meg Ryan And John Mellencamp
Ryan and Mellencamp's relationship remained largely hidden from the glare of the media

Ryan and Mellencamp came together some time in 2010, after Mellencamp ended an 18 year marriage with Elaine Irwin, a former model who was once the face of Ralph Lauren. Splitting their time between an east coast dwelling and Mellencamp’s longtime home of Indiana, it has been cited that it was the sheer distance between the pair that led to the split. Ryan, once a prolific actress, has not appeared in a motion picture since 2009’s Serious Moonlight but is currently producing a film entitled Ithaca. Meanwhile, Mellencamp has been busy on a new album, Plain Spoken, which is due for release shortly. But why can’t Ryan keep hold of a man?

Ryan stars as the cover girl for the latest issue of People, with the magazine discussing her decision to go from leading lady to quiet housewife. The Words Review

Good

Like a Russian nesting doll, this film tells a story within a story within another story, playing around with fact and fiction, as well as the nature of creative inspiration and integrity. These themes are thoroughly engaging, although the film has a nagging familiarity to it because of its cliched story elements. And the structure prevents us from getting properly involved in any of the three story strands.

The main narrator is Clay (Quaid), who is reading from his book The Words, which tells the story of writer Rory (Cooper) and his wife Dora (Saldana), who struggled for five years before his first novel was published to rapturous acclaim from both critics and the public. But out of the shadows emerges an old man (Irons) who knows Rory's secret: he found the manuscript for the novel in a briefcase he bought in a Paris junk shop, then passed it off as his own. So the old man in turn tells Rory his own story, about when he was a younger man (Barnes) in Paris married to a French waitress (Arnezeder).

The layered storytelling lets filmmakers explore quite a few big issues, from the way most novels are based on elements from the writers' lives to the ruthlessness of the publishing industry, in which even the most talented authors struggle to earn a living. But of course, most of the characters in the film are fictional, so we never become very invested in their situations. And the only "real" person is Quaid's cocky, leery Clay, who's engaged in squirm-inducing flirtation with a grad student (Wilde) who stalks him.

'At Any Price' Could Be Zac Efron's Best Movie Yet (Trailer)

Zac Efron Dennis Quaid Ramin Bahrani

Ok, so we'll admit we probably weren't expecting much before seeing the trailer for 'At Any Price,' starring Zac Efron and Dennis Quaid. Essentially, Efron plays an aspiring professional car racer who looks to escape the shackles of his home-life in Iowa - sounds pretty standard fare right? Though dig a little deeper - watch the trailer for one - and there's more than meets the eye here.

Quaid plays Henry Whipple,  a respected farmer who looks to expand his three generation-old farming land. However, when his favorite son Grant flies the coop as a football star, he does his best to push his youngest son Dean (Efron) into the family business. Things don't go to plan and Dean has other things on his mind, principally reaching the racing heights of NASCAR after impressing on the local circuit. Meanwhile, Henry is investigated by GMO corn company Liberty Seeds and his whole career hangs in the balance. Billed as an "immersing family drama," the movie appears to feature some pretty fine performances - especially from Quaid - and the project seems to have been in good hands. Firstly, it's directed and co-produced by Ramin Bahrani, the man behind the exceptional Chop Shop and a filmmaker dubbed "the director of the decade" by critic Roger Ebert, who sadly passed away this week. In one of the final reviews, Ebert said of At Any Price, "This is a brave, layered film that challenges the wisdom of victory at any price."

The Critics Get Hold Sky Atlantic’s Vegas – Review Roundup

Dennis Quaid Michael Chiklis

Thanks to the Sky Channel, Brits can enjoy HBO’s television gems like The Sopranos and The Wire. But recently, the quality’s softened, especially after Luck was cancelled, so can Vegas change that?

Vegas - starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis - first appeared on CBC back in 2012, but it’s only just crossed the shores and premiered last night (Thurs, Feb 14th). We’re not sure how many girlfriends would be willing to invest in a new crime drama on Valentines Day, but we’re not here for ratings, we want reviews. So considering it’s been out for a short while in America, we have the benefit of a Metacritic score, which stands at a healthy, but not all-conquering 68% - and the British press reflect this. The Telegraph gave it 3/5 stars, saying, “Where Mad Men obsessively fetishises the period detail of swinging Manhattan, Vegas more casually evokes the era with the broadbrush strokes of vintage cars and planes and easy-listening music.”

The Independent are slightly more scathing the most, and without giving an overall score, write, “Pileggi's own crime record – as the screenwriter on GoodFellas and Casino – promises rather more than is actually delivered here. Vegas shows none of the fascination with backroom process that was a feature of both those films, opting instead for the unconvincingly pliable reality of a standard American cop show.”
