Dave Navarro
Dave Navarro Biography
For those not up on Dave's background, in the late 80's, he formed Jane's Addiction with Perry Farrell. The widely imitated and influential band was the first successful alternative rock act, and in its five-year career released three platinum-selling albums, was nominated for three Grammy Awards and started the Lollapalooza tour. After the group broke up, Navarro joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom he performed at Woodstock '95 and released the platinum-selling "One Hot Minute" album. In addition, he has played guitar on albums by Alanis Morissette, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Donovan, Porno for Pyros, 4 Non Blondes, Sun 60 and his cousin's band, Lowen and Navarro. He has remixed music for Janet Jackson, Jamiroquai and Traci Lords. He also released an album for Warner Brothers with Eric Avery (of Jane's Addiction) as Deconstruction. In 1998, he reunited with Jane's Addiction for a successful tour and album. He recently co-produced a documentary film, "Three Days," about the tour and is currently on the road for Jane's reunion number two.
