Chris Pratt was born in Virginia, Minnesota, to Kathy and Michael Pratt. While his mother worked in a supermarket, his father originally worked in a gold mine, before moving on to housing development.
Chris and his two older siblings, Cully and Angie, grew up in Lake Stevens, Washington where he practiced wrestling in high school. Pratt spent time working as a waiter in the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company on the Hawaiian Island of Maui, where he was scouted by Rae Dawn Chong who later cast him in his first film role.

Chris Pratt's first role was in the horror film Cursed Part 3 in the year 2000. He then went on to have an appearance in an episode of The Huntress before getting the part of Bright Abbot in Everwood - a role he played from 2002 to 2006. Pratt then appeared in nine episodes of The O.C. in the following year.
The transition from television to movies came steadily, as Pratt appeared in small roles in Wanted, Bride Wars, Jennifer's Body, Moneyball, Zero Dark Thirty and Her.

On the 9th of July, 2009, Chris Pratt married Anna Faris after meeting her on the set for the movie Take me Home Tonight. Their son, Jack, was born on August 25th, 2012.
In his spare time, Pratt enjoys hunting, fishing and fixing up old cars.
