Bruno Tonioli Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Bruno Tonioli is to miss his first episode of the BBC’s Saturday night favourite in 13 years, because of “a very busy work schedule”.

This Saturday’s episode (October 21st) is set to be the first ever show that 61 year old Tonioli will miss in his time on the panel since 2004. A spokesperson for the show said: “As was always the plan, Bruno Tonioli is not on the judging panel this weekend.”

However, he will be back the following weekend for the Halloween episode and is set to be a part of the panel for the rest of the current 15th series.

With the semi-finals set to hit our screens in a couple of weeks, we look at our favourites among the 'Strictly Come Dancing' six remaining contestants.

Yesterday (December 1st 2013) saw 'Waterloo Road''s  get voted out of the competition in their tenth week after landing in the bottom two with Ashley Taylor Dawson and Ola Jordan following their lively 'Lion King' routine. They performed a samba to the popular Disney hit 'I Just Can't Wait To Be King' complete with lion inspired costumes and, alas, face paint.

Dancing With The Stars Week 5: Who's Been Booted Off This Week?

Christina Milian Bruno Tonioli Jack Osbourne

As Dancing With The Stars entered its fifth week on Monday, it was time for the dancers to wave goodbye to one of their own. We were treated to a performance from R&B singer Aloe Blacc and the pro troupe which started the evening with a glamorous tone. However the tension was raised when host Tom Bergeron announced that "one of our female stars will be eliminated tonight."

The stars then entered into a week given the theme 'The Most Memorable Year' of their lives. Corbin Bleu's foxtrot remembered 2011; the year his sister was diagnosed with severe scoliosis. He earned some serious praise from the judges, earning a total score of 28 and particular warmth from Len Goodman who called the actor a "terrific dancer."

Dancing With The Stars is back for a seventeenth season and the second episode gave viewers the opportunity the vote off who they thought didn't deserve to return to dance for another week. Last week's dance routines saw a mixture of foxtrot, cha-cha and contemporary as the twelve contestants tried to kick off the competition on a high note.

The first show saw Amber and Derek placed first, whose high-energy cha-cha performance in front of an audience containing members of the Glee cast was praised by judges for its precision, netting the pair a cool score of 27 - tying the ten-season-old record set by Kristi Yamaguchi of Season 6 for highest score in Week 1.

First ‘9’ On Dancing With The Stars, Courtesy Of Sabrina Bryan

Dancing With The Stars Season 15 had its first ‘9’ score last night (October 1, 2012), courtesy of girl band singer Sabrina Bryan. Her routine, with Louis Van Amstel, had the judges in rapture, especially Carrie Ann Inaba who said she’d never seen such lines of Dancing With the Stars before, according to People magazine. Bruno Tonioli awarded Sabrina 8.5 and compared her to Ginger Rogers, at the height of her career: “a true dazzler.” Len Goodman was equally full of praise for The Cheetah Girls star, remarking on her upper body control and legwork: “the hits just keep on coming,” he said.

At the other end of the scale was Bristol Palin who went home with the lowest score of the evening – a paltry 18, which was less than last week’s score of 19.5. “You were not in hold enough,” Bruno told her, as her Western-inspired routine failed to impress. Palin explained that she had taken her dancing partner Mark Ballas to a shooting range to give him an insight into her world but that sadly hadn’t translated into chemistry on the dance floor.

It was the second episode of the show and tonight, someone will be going home, in the Dancing With The Stars results show. One dancer unlikely to exit tonight is Kirstie Alley, who proved to the judges that her age should not be an obstacle to her progressing n the competition. “Age is just a number and you just proved that to us,” said Carrie Ann, whilst Bruno told her “Experience counts, and you showed it. You blended beautifully.”
