The 2013 MTV Movie Awards relived some of our favourite movie moments from the past year as the most entertaining actors were presented their well-deserved awards.

With flicks such as 'The Avengers', 'Django Unchained' and 'Pitch Perfect' keeping us firmly in our seats at the movie theatre over the past 12 months, we couldn't have expected anything less to come of this year's MTV Awards. Movie of the Year understandably went to Joss Whedon's Marvel blockbuster 'The Avengers' and Whedon was there to collect the accolade alongside the film's stars Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston and Chris Evans. The Best Musical Moment award was collected by the cast of comedy musical 'Pitch Perfect' - Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean and Hana Mae Lee - while Rebel also picked up the award for Breakthrough Performance.

'Django Unchained' star Jamie Foxx landed the MTV Generation Award for his diverse talent, as well as the Best WTF Moment award with Samuel L. Jackson for their dramatic altercation in the Quentin Tarantino movie. Tom Hiddleston won Best Villain as Loki in 'The Avengers' while 'Anchorman' star Will Ferrell landed an uncompetitive Comedic Genius Award for his consistently hysterical comedy moments. A worthy round of winners this year, we have to say.

This was a great MTV Movie Award show this year. I was happy to see Pitch Perfect, the Avengers and Django Unchained win awards; these were a few of my favorite movies this year. I was commuting home from work at DISH when this aired, but I’m glad I didn’t miss it. I watched during the train ride, on my phone using the DISH Anywhere app. This app allows me to watch live and recorded shows while I’m away from home.
